2026 Queen of the Chesapeake
Moira Lookingland - Crescent Yacht Club Hi! My name is Moira Lookingland and I am honored to be the 79th Queen Of The Chesapeake. I am a 17 year old senior at Concordia Preparatory School. At school, I participate in choir, theater, National Honor Society, Worship Band, and I started the very first Environmental Club. Outside of school, I take voice and piano lessons, am a participating member of the choir in my church, and I am a lifeguard. Some fun facts about me are: my favorite band is Fleetwood Mac, I go to church every Sunday with my parents, and I am a HUGE family girl and love spending time with them. In college I intend on majoring in Music Education with a double minor in Special Education and Youth Ministry. I love making new friends and I cannot wait to connect with you all this year! I also would like to announce my charity for my reign as Queen! This year I have chosen the Jake Baker 27 Fund. On May 23rd, 2024, tragically and unexpectedly we lost Jake to suicide at the age of 22. His passing was a devastating shock to all who knew him. Jake Baker was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend to many. In response, The Jake Baker 27 Fund was established with the hope of making a difference. Shortly after starting the Jake Baker 27 Fund there began JB27 talks. The purpose of the talk is to start the conversation about mental health by opening up about Jake, and being vulnerable and approachable. Jake’s story is shared to educate others on the importance of talking about their problems, struggles, and life issues. Jake's story serves as a powerful reminder that no one should face this journey alone. Through these efforts, his legacy continues to inspire understanding, compassion, and support for those in need. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to be the 79th Queen of the Chesapeake and cannot wait to continue to serve the Yacht Club Community and make more amazing friends. I am looking forward to seeing everyone throughout this year.
