“Scott Voorhees has played on the local music scene for nearly four decades, starting in 1983 as a solo artist; then with bassist Frank Frazier of the popular Baltimore band, Appaloosa, playing all throughout the Annapolis-Baltimore/DC area...
In the late ‘80’s, Scott formed “The Music Room” with Scott Hymes, keyboardist & bandleader for “Radio City”, a 5-piece classic rock ‘n pop ensemble also playing all throughout the A/B/DC region, including 13-year regular gig @ Middleton Tavern in Annapolis. After 30+ years, The Music Room is STILL blowing it out...!
In the mid-‘90’s, Scott formed The Beatless, a four-piece contemporary rock group, with a larger emphasis on more current music; The Beatless played largely in the greater Annapolis/Severna Park area, such as Rams Head Roadhouse, Romilo’s, Middleton Tavern, The Woodshop, and more...and are still playing today, as well.
Today, Scott is still playing solo, and with The Music Room and The Beatless, but as of the COVID pandemic, has been playing in a delightful acoustic vocal duo called “Gitz & Shiggles” with renowned area vocal coach and vocalist Jennifer Marie. Centered more on songs by female vocalists, Gitz & Shiggles features a wide array of eras & musical genres in their set list...artists such as Amy Winehouse, Linda Ronstadt, Adele, Peggy Lee, Sheryl Crow, Joni Mitchell, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Bonnie Raitt, KD Lang, Lady GaGa, Stevie Nicks, and tons more...
Scott’s solo set consists of an eclectic mix of rock, pop, blues, jazz, country, instrumental... even a little classical guitar. Artists in the repertoire include:
Elton John, Billy Joel, Chris Isaak, Richard Thompson, The Who, The Beatles, Sting, Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, John Mayer, Ryan Adams, Harry Chapin, John Lennon, Leonard Cohen, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, John Prine, Neil Young, Amos Lee... and the list goes on.
Join him Wednesday evening to hear all of your favorites...it’s gonna’ be a beautiful evening!”
