2022 Queen of the Chesapeake
Michelle Studnicki - Bush River Yacht Club
The Queen's bio:
My name is Michelle Studnicki and I have the honor of representing all of you as the 75th Queen of the Chesapeake.
I am a junior at New Covenant Christian School. I participate in our Student Leadership Council (SLC), and I am currently serving as house captain of Augustine House. Our house participates in multiple events throughout the year: frisbee, caroling, art, Pi day, etc. to compete for the house cup (which my house has won the past 2 years!) I am also involved in the ACE mentorship program. ACE stands for Architecture, Construction, and Engineering. This program is a way to help high school students learn more about the world of ACE in a new perspective. This past year our assignment was to build a fictitious nature center in place of the Rusty Scupper, located in the Inner Harbor. My team ended up winning Most Comprehensive Design. I participate in the science fair each year, this year earning 2nd place. I am involved in my schools chorus. I have studied the language of Latin for 9 years at my school, and have competed nationally 3 times scoring with Magna cum Laude (highest honors). And thanks to my parents I am bilingual. I have also made honor roll throughout all of my high school years. That has led me to become a member of the National Society of High School Scholars.
Outside of school I participate in the Sea Cadets, a naval military based program built to give leadership opportunities, valuable skills, and a wide variety of career paths in the military to their cadets, located at Fort McHenry in Baltimore, MD. I also swim year- round for the Arena Club. Swimming has been one of my biggest passions since I was 5. This past year I qualified for states and competed in my best event, the 100 breaststroke.
I am passionate about service. I have been on my school's Student Leadership Council since the seventh grade. My school is very service driven. We have multiple events each year where different classes go out into the community and help serve others. This year the Freshman and Sophomore Class went to the Birth Right center of Bel Air, which is a Pregnancy Support Center, which helps with assisting mothers and their families. We power-washed, weeded, and cleaned everything to make sure their building was in tip-top shape. Each year the Augustine House participates in multiple service projects. Some being planting flowers at the club, collecting and wrapping presents for the less fortunate, and even getting together with my charity - Extreme Family Outreach and serving in the community.
I enjoy boating, swimming, spending time with family and friends, serving the community, attending my churches youth group, and most importantly cuddling with my dog.
I’m so excited to spend the rest of the year representing the Chesapeake Bay as your Queen. Thank you for this amazing opportunity!
